Ingredients:

  • 8oz dried sea moss (or desired amount)
  • spring water
  • lime

Instructions:

  1. Place sea moss in a bowl and let soak for 25 minutes. Rinse sea moss throughly to remove any access salt, sand etc.
  2. Soak the sea moss in spring water for at least 6-24 hours. This will help to soften and hydrate the moss and make it easier to blend. Make sure to include fresh lime during the soaking process.
  3. Drain the sea moss and rinse it thoroughly under cold water. Cut sea moss into smaller pieces and proceed to step 4.
  4. Transfer the sea moss to a high powered blender or food processor, along with 4 cups of water. Blend until smooth until the mixture had thickened into a gel-like consistency.  You may add more or less water for desired texture.
  5. Transfer to a jar or container with a tight-fitting lid (Mason Jar is highly recommended) and store it in the refrigerator for a few hours.

Your homemade sea moss gel is now ready to use! Store your sea moss gel in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks and enjoy the many benefits it has to offer. Use it as a face mask for a rejuvenating spa experience, add it to smoothies or other recipes for a nutrient boost, or mix it into your lotion or cream for hydrated, glowing skin. The possibilities are endless, so feel free to experiment and discover what works best for you!
