Sea Moss FAQs: Gold, Purple, Green, and Full-Spectrum Wildcrafted Sea Moss
Our collection features four unique types of wildcrafted sea moss: gold, purple, green, and full-spectrum. Sustainably harvested from the pristine waters of Saint Lucia, our raw sea moss ensures the highest quality.

St. Lucia sea moss, also known as Irish moss, is a type of seaweed harvested from the clean waters surrounding St. Lucia. It's commonly used to make sea moss gel and can be added to smoothies, soups, teas, and other recipes.

While both Irish sea moss and St. Lucia sea moss are types of seaweed, they differ in where they grow and how they look.
Irish Sea Moss (Chondrus crispus): Grows in the cold Atlantic waters near Ireland and Canada. It has flat, fan-like branches and a darker appearance.
St. Lucia Sea Moss (Eucheuma): Grows in the warm Caribbean waters surrounding St. Lucia. It has a thicker, branching appearance and is commonly found in gold, purple, green, and full-spectrum varieties.
Although both are types of seaweed, they differ in species, growing environment, and appearance.

Preparing sea moss gel is straightforward:
- Rinse: Thoroughly rinse the dried sea moss to remove any sand or debris.
- Soak: Place the cleaned sea moss in a bowl and cover it with spring or filtered water. Let it soak for 12–24 hours until it expands and softens.
- Blend: Drain the soaked sea moss and blend it with fresh water until you achieve a smooth, gel-like consistency.
- Store: Transfer the gel into a clean, airtight container and refrigerate. It will thicken further as it chills.
This homemade sea moss gel can be added to smoothies, soups, or used as a natural thickener in various recipes.

To extend its freshness:
- Store it in a cool, dark place, like a pantry or cupboard.
- Ensure the container is tightly sealed to prevent exposure to air and humidity.
If the sea moss develops a strong odor, discoloration, or mold, it’s best to discard it. Proper storage is key to maintaining its quality over time.
